Scheduling was a bit of a challenge and I’d recommend for his coordinator to be more proactive and responsive, but this isn’t a reflection of Dr. Walls’ abilities or NYU as a whole. My husband and I continue to be blown away by the surgery experience I had. Dr. Walls and the NYU staff were exceptional (and I can attest because I’ve had a lot of surgeries). The experience was vastly different than HSS which is where I had my previous Achilles surgery.
I’ve now had 4 Achilles surgeries, which still blows my mind. Dr. Walls is the only doctor who actually took the time before and after the surgery to check in, explain things, and allow me to ask questions. He’s not arrogant or conceited. I’m 5 months post surgery and I have almost no pain. I also recently started running again, which I thought may never happen (I used to be a semi-competitive marathon runner). I’ll probably never be as good as I once was, but the future is promising. I’ll be able to do the activities I love, and that’s what matters.
I highly recommend Dr. Walls and would encourage you to question any negative reviews posted for him, as they’re simply not true. He’s knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and trustworthy, which is very hard to find these days.
