Dr. Walls is a top-notch amazing and caring doctor. I was referred to Dr. Walls earlier this year after my 3rd Achilles surgery started to fail. Needless to say, I was really upset and hopeless. I knew I likely needed another surgery but didn’t want another overly ambitious/eager NYC doctor to agree to immediately cutting me open (for the $$$). While I was frustrated by the pain and inability to do any activity, I appreciated Dr. Walls’ treatment approach. We tried a couple of last ditch efforts to save my Achilles. When those efforts failed, we knew surgery was the right next step.

Scheduling was a bit of a challenge and I’d recommend for his coordinator to be more proactive and responsive, but this isn’t a reflection of Dr. Walls’ abilities or NYU as a whole. My husband and I continue to be blown away by the surgery experience I had. Dr. Walls and the NYU staff were exceptional (and I can attest because I’ve had a lot of surgeries). The experience was vastly different than HSS which is where I had my previous Achilles surgery.

I’ve now had 4 Achilles surgeries, which still blows my mind. Dr. Walls is the only doctor who actually took the time before and after the surgery to check in, explain things, and allow me to ask questions. He’s not arrogant or conceited. I’m 5 months post surgery and I have almost no pain. I also recently started running again, which I thought may never happen (I used to be a semi-competitive marathon runner). I’ll probably never be as good as I once was, but the future is promising. I’ll be able to do the activities I love, and that’s what matters.

I highly recommend Dr. Walls and would encourage you to question any negative reviews posted for him, as they’re simply not true. He’s knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and trustworthy, which is very hard to find these days.
